Lang Shining (1688-1766 AD), Italian. At the age of 19, he joined the Catholic Jesuit Church as a monk. He studied oil painting and architecture. He came to China to preach at the age of 27 and served the imperial court with pictures. He served in the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties. The painting method refers to the Chinese and Western paintings. He is good at painting people, flowers and birds, especially dogs and horses.
