The round shaped mother of pearl is made of eight lozenges in the middle, each of which is inlaid with coral, the core of which is inlaid with pearls, and the whole body is surrounded by hollowed out green dots with three leaf patterns. The mother of pearl, also known as “facial hairpin”, is decorated on the colorful crown “mother of pearl” that Manchu women wear during festivals and sacrifices. It is often combined into a group of several single mother of pearl.
