  • Description:
Flat jug, lip outward, short straight neck, flat round abdomen, Ruyi ears on both sides connecting neck and shoulders, square feet outward. The whole vessel is decorated with blue and white flowers, Ruyi Cloud Head, and tangled lotus. The central part of the outer wall of the abdomen is slightly convex, decorated with peach shaped lights, and the inside is painted with broken branches of peach fruits and bats, with the auspicious implication of “happiness and longevity”. The bright outside is decorated with tangled crocuses, and the foot wall is decorated with curly grass. Cobalt blue glaze is stuck into blocks, and blue spots are deliberately dotted to create the appearance of iron rust spots. This effect should follow the characteristics of blue and white glaze in Yongle and Xuande periods of the Ming Dynasty. The bottom foot is exposed for a circle, and the blue and white script “made in the year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty” on the white glazed ground inside the foot is in three lines and six characters.
