In the Qianlong and Jiaqing dynasties, a complete set of powder colored snuff bottles was often fired, or a set of ten or a set of twenty. It is shaped like a flat gourd, with a flat bottom and turquoise color as the ground. The upper abdomen is painted with bats holding curly flowers, and the lower abdomen is painted with curly lotus flowers. The center of the flower stretches out, holding peaches, pomegranates and Buddha’s hands (called Sanduo). The bottom of the device is painted with gold seal characters: “Jiaqing Nian Zhi”, with a painted gold red porcelain cover and a tooth spoon.
