- Description:
Zhou Kun (who lived in the first half of the 18th century) was good at landscapes, characters and poems. Emperor Qianlong once wrote the poem “I love Zhou Kun’s pen”, which shows his appreciation for Zhou Kun. This painting is the sixth of the Twelve Forbidden Imperial Paintings. It is a poetic picture of the poem “Sailing on a Moonlight Night” written by Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty in June. The scenes in the painting are “Pengdao Yaotai”, “Hanxu Langjian” and “Fanghu Wonderland” in the northwest of Yuanmingyuan Fuhai. In the vast night scene, the boat paddles across the lake, and the moon is reflected on it. Food and drink are prepared in the picture, and a small band mixed with flute, clapper, cymbals, drums and other instruments makes the moon night in Fuhai more joyful and lively.
