The snuff bottle has a small round mouth, a short neck, a round belly like a full moon, a slight drum in the front and back, an oval circle of feet, a red dome cover, and a wooden stopper and a tooth spoon under it. It is used to scoop up the snuff in the pot, or put it on a small plate, or directly on the back of the thumb, for sniffing. The front and back of the belly are decorated with white colored paintings, tapered arched rice ears and pairs of quails, symbolizing “peace all the year round”; The two sides are painted with curly branch patterns in light purple. There is a line of four character seal characters “made in Jiaqing” at the bottom. During the reign of Qianlong and Jiaqing, a complete set of glazed colored snuff bottles were often fired, which were stored in wooden boxes together with the other eight snuff bottles.
