Gao Qipei (1660-1734), named Wei Zhi, was named Qiyuan and Nancun. His ancestors moved from Gaomi County, Shandong Province to Tieling, Liaoning Province, under the Han Army. To be an official in the shadow of one’s ancestors, and to be an official in the Ministry of Punishment. He was dismissed in the fifth year of Yongzheng’s reign (1727) due to his mistakes during his tenure. Later, he entered the painting workshop of the Qing Palace Ruyi Hall to paint. He was a famous painter in the early Qing Dynasty.
