The cup is open, deep bellied, flat bottomed, and shallow enough. The outer wall is covered with red glaze, and is decorated with three lights. The inside is painted with tree peonies, chrysanthemums, and roses, and between the lights are decorated with colorful flowers. The inner lining is plain without grain, and the bottom is in blue and white script “made in Yongzheng” in two lines of regular script, plus two sides of the box. The shape and ornamentation of the whole work are all imitated from the porcelain body painting enamel of the Kangxi period. Considering that the painting enamel stored in the Qing Palace is unlikely to be sent to Jingdezhen as a reference sample for firing, this product can be regarded as the porcelain body painting enamel painted in the style of Kangxi using the newly fired white porcelain of Jingdezhen in the manufacturing office.
