This axis depicts the scene in Volume VI of the Shurangama Sutra, that is, after 25 Bodhisattvas each said that they could understand the Dharma, when the Tathagata asked, “How can it be convenient for Dharma to be easily accomplished. The following Zhang Zhaoshu, in the second year of Qianlong’s reign (1737), is the long verse in Ket written by Manjusri. Ding Guanpeng was a painter of the Yongzheng and Qianlong painting academies. In the early years of Qianlong, he learned oil painting skills from Lang Shining and was good at integrating Chinese and Western painting styles. Zhang Zhao (1691-1745) was a scholar in the 48th year of Kangxi (1709). He learned from Dong Qichang in his calligraphy style, and later learned from Mi Fu. In the early years of Qianlong, he mostly wrote for the emperor.
