  • Description:
The wooden cover booklet is bound with wood at the front and back, and the wooden cover is engraved with “Nine Symbols” and filled with gold seal characters. There are bound lines on the inner page. Inside the bound line is Zhang Zhao who writes the “Nine Talismans” in regular script. Calligraphy pays attention to careful notes, and collocates with Yan Zhenqing’s generous knot characters, showing the changes in pen use in the rules. The inner page is also marked with “Treasure Collection in the Palace of Heavenly Purity”, which is one of the standard seals of “Initial Compilation of Shiqu Treasure Collection”. According to the investigation, although the “Initial Compilation of Shiqu Treasure Collection” contains two pieces of “Nine Symbols” written by Zhang Zhao (superior Tianyi and superior Tian’er), the place of hiding is Chonghua Palace, so this small volume page is not included in the “Initial Compilation of Shiqu Treasure Collection” The Nine Talismans was written by Emperor Qianlong before he ascended the throne. It is contained in Volume 10 of the Complete Works of the Imperial Leshan Hall. It can be seen from the “Written by the Fourth Emperor and Zhang Zhaojing” at the back of the small volume page that this was written when Emperor Gaozong of Qing Dynasty was still the Prince of Treasure during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng. It can be said that it is one of the physical witnesses of the interaction between the two people.
