“Dharma Body Rites” was originally a popular ritual and confession text in the Tang Dynasty. The ten verses that were popular earlier were from the “Buddhist Realm Sutra” translated by Dharmaruci in the second year of Jingming in the Northern Wei Dynasty (501). Amoghavajra (705-774) of the Tang Dynasty was added and retranslated according to the Sanskrit text, and became this 41 song Great Sage Manjusri Bodhisattva Praise Buddha Dharma and Body Rituals. This volume was copied by Emperor Gaozong in the 46th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1781) on the new day of the lunar month in the summer. The place is Juxiang Temple in Rehe. As one of the eight outer temples in Chengde, the Temple was built in the north of the Summer Resort by Qianlong’s internal affairs office to imitate the Temple of Mount Wutai. In the Forbidden City of Beijing, there is another copy of the same classic written by Qianlong a little earlier than the Zhongchunyue in the same year, as well as a copy written in clay and gold in Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan.
