The shape is imitated from the bronze goblet of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. It has a bulging belly, a long trumpet shaped neck, a flat bottom, and a short circle foot. The inside and bottom of the utensil are covered with lake green glaze, the outside is covered with yellow glaze, and the design of lotus, banana leaves and flowers are painted on it. Four gold lines shall be painted on the mouth edge, abdomen and bottom foot respectively. On the bottom is a four character seal script in the blue and white script “made in the year of Qianlong”. In the shape of a bronze goblet, plus glazed porcelain from famous kilns of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, it was created and burned in the Yongzheng official kiln. The official kilns popular in the Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties, until the Qianlong period, the pursuit of new types of intentions eventually led the Qianlong official kilns to try to create new types completely different from the Yongzheng official kilns. This “Fanlian Banana Leaf Goblet”, with its open mouth edge and outward looking shins, has a sharp and smooth line and more metallic taste after fine decoration.
