Dark brown gourd shaped small wooden box with child and mother mouths. The outer wall and cover of the utensil are not only embossed with the vine stem leaves of the gourd, but also decorated with small gourds, bats, butterflies, and small gourds mixed with branches and leaves, enhancing the realism of the gourd as a living utensil. The “happiness” represented by bats and butterflies echoes the auspicious meaning of “happiness” of gourds. The box contains a wooden piece of “Daji” carved with Swastika characters and continuous brocade. It can be seen that this piece is mainly used to express auspicious meanings.
