Yun Shouping (1633-1690 AD) was born in Wujin, Jiangsu Province. The poem and prose is the first of the six escapes in Piling, and the painting is compared with the fourth king of the early Qing Dynasty and the king of Wu Li, which is collectively called the four kings Wu Yun. He was good at painting landscapes. Later, he realized that he could not compete with Wang Hui, but specialized in flowers. With Xu Chongsi’s unique style, he became a master of flower painting in the Qing Dynasty. This is the third painting of the “ancient book”. It depicts two peonies, one in bud and the other in full bloom. The whole painting is painted with color directly, and the veins and muscles of leaves are sketched. It is very soft, lively, natural, elegant and beautiful.
