- Description:
This mirror was originally stored in the multi treasure box of the “Jiqiongzao” collected in the sixth year of Qianlong’s reign (1741), in the form of an oval mirror box. The box is composed of two yellow stained teeth, which are interlocked with hinges. On both sides of the box, there is a round enamel inlay of Western ladies’ paintings, and the surrounding is decorated with green colored teeth curling leaf patterns. One side of the box is glass mirror, and the other side is embroidery fabric. Although the decoration of the mirror box is mainly made of western ladies’ enamel, the hanging form of the waist pendant, the method of dyeing teeth and the style of embroidery are typical of the Qing Dynasty, which shows that the mirror was made of western painting enamel inlays by craftsmen in the Qing Dynasty.
