  The end stone and the inkstone are in an octagonal shape. The inkstone hall is round, and the surrounding ring forms a canal around. It is the ink pool. The canal reaches the outer edge of the inkstone. The embossed waves, flying fish, and seahorses are surrounded by string patterns inside and outside. The wall of the inkstone head is inscribed with: “Tang style eight ridge clear mud inkstone”. In regular script, the back of the inkstone is flat. In the middle, it is engraved with the first inscription of an inkstone inscribed by the Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty. The regular script reads: “The four dimensions and four corners are called the eight directions. The walls are surrounded by water. They are round in the center. The inside and outside have deep meanings. The clear mud style is similar to that of the Tang Dynasty. This is the end of the stream from the old pit.”. The title of the article is “Emperor Qianlong’s Imperial Inscription”, and the second seal is “Bide” and “Langrun”. The box is made of red sandalwood. The cover of the box is engraved with “Tang style eight edged Chengni inkstone”.
