Jade is white and smooth. The whole device is carved into a five strand Vajra pestle with symmetrical two ends. It is made into a four pointed leaf shaped cross, connected by a bead with a perforation. Vajra pestle is a Buddhist instrument, symbolizing the elimination of vexation and stupidity. This piece was included in the Dobboge “Jiqiongzao” made in the Qianlong period. According to the original two layers of 73 pieces contained in the Jiqiongzao booklet, they were stored in wooden boxes inlaid with animal bones in Luodian.
