The green white jade is glossy. Cut a plate that looks like a shallow bowl. The use mark is not obvious. There are many such plain jade bowls and plates in the Qing Palace, many of which are of rough workmanship and have been used for a long time. According to recent studies, the tradition of making and using jade vessels has been developed since the 15th century in Central Asia because of the abundance of Kunlun jade. In the second half of the 18th century, because the Qing army expanded its territory to the west, Uyghur noble women married as concubines (commonly known as Xiang Fei), which led to the spread of jade from Central Asia (today’s Xinjiang and its west), South Asia (India), and West Asia (Türkiye) to the east. Most people in South Asia and West Asia carve flower and leaf patterns, while those in plain light are more likely to be made in Central Asia.
