    The rectangular purple inkstone is purple gray in color, with some small milky white spots on its surface. From the border around, the place near the inkstone head is wide. There is a circular shallow concave in the wide center of the inkstone hall where ink is received, and the inkstone pool is inclined down to the inkstone head. The whole object is plain without ornamentation. The back of the inkstone is surrounded by wide ridges, and the central concave is engraved with a regular script inscription: “Out of the Heavenly Han Dynasty, better than the jade, carved for research, pure and refined, it commands several literary forms, and has been repeatedly saved. The Emperor Qianlong’s inscription.” And the seal “For Yongbao” shall be affixed. There is an inkstone box with green pine stone and crabapple flowers.
