- Description:
At the bottom left of this painting, there is a piece of “imperial silk made by my father”. Although it is a pseudonymous work, it is finely carved and is a rare masterpiece of “Suzhou Film”. The theme of this painting should be that all the immortals go to the Peach Blossom Meeting to celebrate the birthday of the Queen Mother. The landscape of land, sea and air is interspersed and layered, and the composition is beautiful and complex; All the immortals and auspicious animals take this as a stage to show various supernatural powers. On the slope at the lower right corner of the picture is Li Tieguai, who is riding Zhang Guo’s donkey at random. The primordial god has turned into a beam of light from the gourd and flies back to the sky to meet the Supreme Lord. Compared with the simple costume of immortals, the pavilion in the painting is decorated with gorgeous and complicated structures. The cloud dragon pattern, which is delicately depicted with gold thread, takes pains to manage different patterns on each red column. Although the characters and animals have slight defects, they are not less wonderful as a whole, and should be a high-end gift for birthday celebration at that time. (Qiu Shihua)
